.SH DESCRIPTION
.IX Header "DESCRIPTION"
This module implements China-based Chinese charset encodings.
Encodings supported are as follows.
.PP
.Vb 10

\& \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-

\& /\ebcn.*euc$/i
\& /\ebGB[\-_ ]?2312(?:\eD.*$|$)/i (see below)
\& gb2312\-raw The raw (low\-bit) GB2312 character map

.SH NOTES
.IX Header "NOTES"
Due to size concerns, \f(CW\*(C`GB 18030\*(C'\fR (an extension to \f(CW\*(C`GBK\*(C'\fR) is distributed
separately on CPAN, under the name Encode::HanExtra. That module
also contains extra Taiwan-based encodings.
.SH BUGS
.IX Header "BUGS"
When you see \f(CW\*(C`charset=gb2312\*(C'\fR on mails and web pages, they really
mean \f(CW\*(C`euc\-cn\*(C'\fR encodings. To fix that, \f(CW\*(C`gb2312\*(C'\fR is aliased to \f(CW\*(C`euc\-cn\*(C'\fR.
Use \f(CW\*(C`gb2312\-raw\*(C'\fR when you really mean it.
.PP
The ASCII region (0x00\-0x7f) is preserved for all encodings, even though
this conflicts with mappings by the Unicode Consortium.
